The Big Bend Scenic Byway invites travelers to explore undiscovered North Florida, and be transported to a different time and place through its Wildlife, Waterways, Woods, and Way of Life. The Big Bend is a very special place. Therefore, it is critical for front-line workers at information centers, museums, lodgings, shops, and restaurants to be knowledgeable about the vast natural, recreational, historical, and cultural resources awaiting visitors.
The Byway Ambassador Program was designed to meet this challenge and increase profits of Ambassador Businesses along the 220-mile drive. There is no cost, just a commitment that you and your staff (current and future) watch and discuss the short 7-part video series which details major attractions and key information of the Big Bend Scenic Byway’s Coastal and Forest Trails.
In return, your business will have added exposure – regional, state, and national – by being listed as an Ambassador on the Byway’s website. This exposure will help increase visitation to your facility. Surveys show that businesses which market themselves as “being on a National Scenic Byway” increase their profits from 10 – 33%. In addition to a Video DVD, Byway Ambassadors receive the Byway logo for use in promotional materials and a Byway decal, to place in the front window. And, by “Liking” the Big Bend Scenic Byway’s Facebook page, your social media outreach will increase.
Upon signing the Byway Ambassador Pledge Form, you will also receive the Big Bend Scenic Byway Tear-off Map, Calendar, and a copy of The Guide to the Big Bend Scenic Byway. These materials are all you need to refresh your memory on Byway attractions and more.
Please patronize the following list of businesses, agencies, and enterprises along the Big Bend Scenic Byway. In addition to their principal focus -- as an information center, museum, restaurant, gift shop, etc. -- their staff is knowledgeable about the Big Bend Scenic Byway and its many attractions and resources. Look for the Byway decal in their window. And, please let us know of anyone providing exceptional service, so they may be recognized.
